Diet: vanilla ice cream is very expensive

Summer time is ice time. If you do not want to leave the house to go to the next ice cream parlor, you are more than happy to use the vanilla ice cream from the supermarket. But what offer is of good quality? "Eco-test" arrives at a surprising result.

Dear is not quite as good with vanilla ice cream: In a comparison of the magazine "Öko-Test" two relatively expensive brand products have achieved the worst (number 7/18). They only have one "insufficient". Of the 19 products tested, 5 performed well, including a bioproduct. Eight times the grade was "satisfactory", three times "sufficient" and once "poor".

Top of the list is Ökofrost's "Organic Vanilla Ice Cream", Bofrost's "Bourbon Vanilla", and Edeka's vanilla ice cream. The "Good & Cheap" brand, Landliebe's "Ice Cream Bourbon Vanilla" and Netto's "Romanza Vanilla Ice Cream"

Vanilla ice cream is often not what consumers expect: those who want an ice cream with milk must buy products, the "ice cream" are called, guess the goods tester. If there is only "ice cream" on the package, it is probably vegetable fat.

Black spots on ice do not mean that the taste of vanilla is particularly strong. The crushed pods are extracted – and then they are as good as they are bland.

The products were devalued because of, among other things, too much air, too little vanilla or too much mineral oil in the ice. Incidentally, the sweetest product tested contains 24 grams per 100 grams – about eight cubes of sugar.
