Separated children will receive more money from their dependent parents starting next year. The new "Dusseldorfer table" will come into effect on January 1, 2019, as announced by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf. The table governs child support for fathers and mothers living separately.

Six to nine euros more

The minimum maintenance for a child under six years old goes from 348 to 354 euros. For boys and girls up to 12 years, it is 406 years instead of 399 euros, for children under 18 years old to 476 years instead of 467 euros. For adult children, who are still living in the household of a parent, the alimony remains unchanged at at least 527 euros. For the highest-paying parents, the rates are higher; Monthly payments, for example, for 12-17 year olds increase by 14 euros (from 748 to 762 euros).

Half of child family allowances and one full adult adult are taken into account for maintenance; It is € 194 for a first and a second child until June 30, for a third € 200 and for each additional € 225. The income groups at the Düsseldorfer table and the dependent parent's allowance, which were increased this year, remain unchanged in 2019, he said.

Annual adaptation

The "Dusseldorfer table" was last adjusted on January 1, 2018, a new amendment should be attributed to it by 2020, according to the court. The table published by the Dusseldorf Higher Regional Court since 1962 provides uniform guide values ​​for calculating alimony. The Dusseldorfer table itself has no legal force and is a general guideline that is used by all the higher regional courts at the national level for the calculation of child support.
