Two bombs from the Second World War were launched Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm on the former Bundeswehr site in Friedrichsfeld, between Varel and Osterforde (Bockhorn). However, the working group has not yet given the go-ahead.
Houses and apartments have been evacuated within 1,000 meters of the town, the police station Wilhelmshaven / Friesland has announced via Twitter.
The inhabitants of Grabsteder Weg, Mühlenweg and Grenzweg Streets are mainly affected. Volunteer firefighters from Varel, the city of Varel, the community of Bockhorn and the Varel police are participating in the mission.
