For an unknown cause, there had been an explosion in an apartment building at 12 am on Kaltenborner Straße. Shortly before, a tenant had detected a smell of gas in the basement of the house and had tried to ask the tenants to leave the property, the police said. According to the current results, three people were injured, one of them seriously. "The identity of the seriously injured person is currently unclear; she was rushed to hospital with severe burns," a police spokeswoman said Wednesday afternoon.

The detonation caused a fire in the house. Residents felt the explosion according to their own statements in the next cross street.
