Garmin: Update for Dashcams – COMPUTER

[ad_1]

D The verdict caused a sensation: the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) ruled in May last that Dashcams recordings are admissible as evidence in the accident process. However, the judges have formulated a requirement: The cameras do not film traffic continuously while driving. Garmin's Dashcam provider has now responded and has equipped its models with a confidentiality update.

Garmin update: Overwriting sequences

With the update, the manufacturer follows a recommendation of the following: ADAC. The automobile club advises limiting the registrations only to materials relevant to the accidents. As a result, Garmin Dashcams will record three-minute footage during the trip. Sequences are permanently overwritten unless the camera records an accident or if the driver manually presses the memory button. The update also disables the time-lapse function in Germany for reasons of confidentiality.
