If you want to send books or goods, you have to pay a lot more from July 1, 2018. The postage will be increased up to 40 cents for this purpose.
Starting Sunday, the shipping of books and goods with Deutsche Post will be considerably more expensive. For deliveries of books up to 500 grams, the Post will charge 1.20 euro from 1 July, 20 cents more than before. For the compact lot (up to 50 grams), with 1.30 euros, even 40 cents more payable.
With the largest variations of book and merchandise deliveries, price increases are not so strong. For the Maxi show, the price goes from 1.65 to 1.70 euros, for the shipment of goods from 1.90 to 2.20 euros. For the latter, however, higher discounts will apply in the future, so the price for discount customers remains the same.

Swiss Post has justified increases in postage costs by general cost increases and higher transport costs. According to Group information, the last price increase in the field of book and goods deliveries took place in 2013.
Other letter products are not affected by the increases. Thus, the postage for the standard 70 cent letter is regulated by the state. However, an increase is possible in principle from the beginning of 2019.
