Night attack by Federal Finance Minister and Vice-Chancellor Olaf Scholz (60, SPD) in the Hamburg residential building.

A group of about 14 unknowns burned a car tire in front of the multifamily home in Altona District on Friday night. Then they threw jars of jam filled with paint against the wall of the house.

This was reported by the Hamburg police. The authors fled. State protection is currently investigating a political crime.

Mr Scholz was first Mayor of Hamburg until March. During his reign, the G20 riots took place in July 2017.

The politician of the SPD was himself at the time of the crime, not in his apartment. In fact, he wanted to go alongside Chancellor Angela Merkel (64, CDU) for the G20 summit in Buenos Aires. Due to a government failure, he ran aground in a four-star hotel in Bonn.

Recently, Scholz's residence in Potsdam (Brandenburg) had sparked enthusiasm: the building collapsed on 23 November – although it is under the protection of the police.
