More than 100 wineries were filled Saturday afternoon in Landau. A similar image was already in June in the city of Palatinate.

Heavy rains overtook Landau on Saturday afternoon. It fell so much rain that the streets were flooded and the sewers were raised, police said. More than 100 cellars were stranded.

The downtown area was like a pool after the rain, said a fire department inspector responsible for the SWR. Several roads had to be temporarily closed. Roads around the city and parts of Highway 65 near Landau have also been affected.

Weather on weekends: thunderstorms, showers, thunderstorms

Sunday also "risk of severe local weather due to heavy rains sometimes not excluded", says one in the forecasts of the German Meteorological Service for the Rhineland -Palatinate.

Thunderstorms can also cause storms. Temperatures only reach highs between 23 and 28 degrees. On Friday, in some places, more than 32 degrees had been measured. On Monday night, it cools to 13 degrees. The new week begins with a mix of clouds and sun. Showers are only expected in the south. Temperatures should rise from 26 to 31 degrees.
