Hesse Transport Minister Tarek Al-Wazir (Greens) and Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) want to introduce a Seniorenticket on the Hesse scale. It should cost 365 euros a year and apply throughout the country.

On Tuesday, RMV's supervisory board decided to discuss the concrete structure of the offer. "What we started with the student ticket, we want to continue with the ticket for the elderly," said Al-Wazir. The annual ticket for students and apprentices exists since the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. This applies throughout Hesse.

For one euro per day, you can use all buses, trams, subways, S-Bahn and regional trains. According to Finance Minister Thomas Schäfer (CDU), the senior ticket could be launched in the coming year. By the beginning of the year 2020 at the latest, the offer would be possible. The student ticket subsidizes the country with 20 million euros a year.

This ticket is used by over 400,000 students and trainers, said the Minister of Transport. Next year, the RMV application will be extended to a "mobility platform" with extended functions: users should also be able to book taxis, rental cars and rental bicycles, or purchase tickets in 'other cities.

For this, the RMV wishes to found a joint venture called Mobility Inside with other transport badociations in Germany. The customer wanted "more than the hour, clean, secure and informed," said Ringat. The first step is to make the application more user friendly. The hourly tickets must also be able to buy customers from 2019 via the smartphone.

RMV CEO, Knut Ringat, expects one-third additional pbadengers on the network by 2030. For this, the infrastructure needs to be expanded urgently. With a Master Plan "Mobility 2030", the RMV wants to meet the growing demand. These include projects such as the Nordmainische S-Bahn train to Hanau, the Wallauer Spange between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, the introduction of a Hesse Express and the reduction of gaps in the rail network around Frankfurt. Additional capacity should also create longer trains and tighter timing. It should be used more express bus.
