Huawei and Samsung have sent their best models of the first half of the race. We compared them for you.
Huawei's and Samsung's high-end models have many similarities in terms of functionality, but they do not differ only in terms of design and user interface. We will show you where are the biggest differences.
Huawei P30 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus: display and design

In terms of design, both models are clearly identifiable as smartphones from the respective manufacturers. The Samsung S10 Plus (test) is clearly a further development of the Galaxy S series, and the P30 Pro is mainly due to the positioning of its rear camera as a P-series camera. The Huawei P30 Pro is a novelty in the S10 (Plus): the hole in the front camera display is located on a tiny Notch.

Both devices have a rounded OLED screen on the sides, which snaps slightly around the edge of the case. In terms of display quality, the Samsung model is a bit more advanced than the P30 Pro. Both very good screens are used, but the S10 (Plus) looks a little brighter.
In terms of maximum resolution, Samsung is at the forefront with 3,040 x 1,440 pixels – the P30 Pro is only 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. However, Samsung retrograde the default screen of 2280 x 1080 pixels to save battery power. Thus, the highest resolution is basically only theoretical: to the naked eye, no pixel is visible in both models. The display diagonals are also almost identical: the P30 Pro has a 6.47-inch screen, the S10 Plus 6.4-inch.
In accordance with the current trend, Samsung and Huawei install a built-in fingerprint reader, which works reliably on both devices, but can not handle the speed of a capacitive fingerprint scanner . The Samsung S10 uses an ultrasonic sensor, the Huawei an optical sensor: there is no difference in everyday life. But that means that an ultrasound solution is safer. Too bad: both smartphones have only 2D facial recognition, considered relatively uncertain. The P30 Pro would have liked to use the same 3D face scanner that was used in the Mate 20 Pro (test). But Huawei should have increased the notch.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus vs Huawei P30 Pro: Battery
Huawei, with its 4,200 milliamperes hours battery, is far ahead in terms of battery life, even though the S10 Plus's battery is nominally close to paper at 4,100 milliamps. The P30 Pro is still running while the S10 Plus is already thirsty for power. Speaking of which, the P30 Pro can be recharged with 40 watts in no time, the S10 Plus supports a maximum of 25 watts, which is not a bad value. In addition, both with 15 (P30 Pro) and ten-watt wireless charging via wireless charging station Qi.
The camera: Huawei P30 Pro more versatile

For the quad camera of the P30 Pro, the triple cam of the S10 Plus is not quite at the rendezvous. Both offer a wide-angle lens and take great pictures in daylight. But when it's dark, the P30 Pro still produces photos, where the S10 goes black. Even Google's Pixel 3 (Test) does not come with its night vision feature.

In addition, the P30 is a king of the zoom: you can zoom on objects with a hybrid zoom up to tenx with exceptional quality, while the S10 Plus offers only a double zoom. Slightly better than the Huawei model, however, the Samsung S10 can handle videos.

Software: EMUI 9 vs. An interface

In terms of user interface, ghosts are different – some prefer the Huawei EMU 9, which is still a little away from Apple iOS, while others celebrate the new interface of Samsung, One-UI. This is partly understandable, as South Koreans have fundamentally revised their user interface. It looks cooler and cleaner than Huawei's. In Part 9, EMUI has also been improved in some parts, but visually, virtually nothing has changed. What Huesweis EMUI prefers is gesture control, which has been better implemented than Google's.

Both surfaces have their advantages and disadvantages, I like Samsung better in terms of optics, in terms of operation, Huawei provides the best approach.
What else?

The two models differ in many other ways: the S10 (Plus) always has a headphone jack and rich stereo sound. Huawei has abandoned the stereo speakers for the benefit of an on-screen sound solution – while talking on the phone, the screen is used for sound transmission, which also works reliably.
Both systems work perfectly, which is why we do not discuss differences such as processor and memory here. It should be noted that the memory expansion on the P30 Pro requires a proprietary nano-memory card. Samsung continues to use micro SD cards.

We can also note that Huawei and Samsung have interesting colors to offer: the P30 Pro comes in shades of orange and iridescent, the S10 Plus in green chic, among others.

As the comparison shows, both smartphones have their strengths and weaknesses. The Huawei P30 Pro is characterized by a more powerful camera and better endurance. Although the Samsung model also has a good camera, it is not as versatile. If you prefer stereo speakers or wired headsets, you have a choice between them. As for the prizes, both players play in the league and cost about 1,000 euros each.
