The allegations are serious, the evidence is still sketchy: According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), Iraqi security authorities have admitted to imprisoning "suspected terrorists" for months. The Human Rights Organization (NSS) said it has arrested more than 400 prisoners in the eastern part of the city of Mosul, the organization said Sunday.
HRW did not publish the official NSS letter containing this confirmation. But the human rights organization had access to a so-called detention center in early July and was therefore able to speak with several detainees.
