Measles has spread further into Lower Allgäu. According to the Landratsamtes Unterallgäu, 18 cases have been known since the beginning of June. Until now, especially the West District with focus on Ottobeuren has been affected.
Among the new victims are, among other things, unvaccinated siblings of previously sick patients. Some of those who were ill recovered – some had to be hospitalized at the hospital.
To prevent the spread of measles, the health department again calls for control of the vaccination status and to make up for the missing vaccinations. In addition, you must stay in bed with high fever and discomfort and not go to school, kindergarten or work. This applies regardless of a measles disease.
According to the health department, measles is very contagious even before the rash occurs. In the beginning, measles is similar to a viral disease. It can cause fever, runny nose, cough or conjunctivitis.
