On October 18, the president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) in Warsaw, who had already been the subject of much discussion, is holding a kind of farewell speech in the circle of colleagues from the intelligence services of the EU, Norway and Switzerland. The club is so secret that it does not exist officially. The same can not be said of Mabadens' speech.

Maaßen almost ensures that his words become public. The 55-year-old's lineages have all the right stuff – and they should make sure he's now looking for a new job in the private sector. According to information provided by the German press agency, the BfV President presented his point of view on the background of his resignation as head of the authorities of his counterparts in the Polish capital.

Believing what is said about the content of the speech, Maaßen devised a sort of conspiracy scenario: he spoke of radical leftist forces in the SPD, who were opposed to the grand coalition from the beginning. His remarks on the incidents in Chemnitz were a welcome opportunity for these forces to break with the unloved grand coalition.

Then, the supreme constitutional protector of the Federal Republic would have appreciated himself: he is known in Germany as a critic of a foreign policy and security naive and left, according to Mabaden. It had been an opportunity for his political opponents and some media to push him to destitution.

Since October 24, Maaßens' speech after the information dpa in the "Information on safe" in the protected area of ​​the intranet BfV for all employees must be read. According to information provided by the intelligence services, the controversial content of Maaßen's speech was subsequently announced outside. Although BfV employees are not allowed to bring a mobile phone (with photo) to the office – this is often not really possible to control. And it's not possible to prevent someone from copying and pbading on the text anyway, depending on the circles that know him well.

The employer of Mabadens, the Minister of the Interior and the head of the CSU, Horst Seehofer, faltering, as well as the control of the responsible intelligence services of the Bundestag, quickly became aware of the case. Since the end of last week, the internal issue is already a problem that you can hear.

Next meeting of the Parliamentary Control Panel late November

The Greens, according to their Interior expert Konstantin von Notz on the new Causa Maaßen, had already asked the Parliamentary Committee to control the intelligence agencies' control for Wednesday, the FDP has joined the request. The next regular meeting of the secret committee is scheduled for November 28th.

Brief flashback: On 23 September, after several days of conflict, the coalition leaders agreed that Mabaden would be transferred to the Federal Ministry of the Interior. In this country, the special adviser, aged 55, should become the head of department and earn as much as before. The initial candidacy of Seehofer and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and SPD leader Andrea Nahles therefore blessed the promotion to the position of Secretary of the Interior with a higher salary. And also a breakup of the coalition because of the Moors' personality was initially avoided.

Maßsen was to be responsible for European and international affairs at the ministry, announced Seehofer at the time. But it was an open secret in Berlin: career managers were not very enthusiastic about job prospects.

Sunday, it was then from the security community that the Ministry of the Interior prepared the dismissal of Maaß – which would be a very sharp weapon with major cuts in the pensions of the federal official. The use of a link as a special representative is no longer an issue because he strongly criticized some parts of the coalition and had already defended himself even before the statements of the federal committees on " "prosecution" of Chemnitz are again defended in a mbadive way. Not yet clear, whether dismissal or temporary retirement

At the time, Maaßen protested in an interview with the newspaper that the Chemnitz events were described as "lawsuit" in a video. On the contrary, "good reasons" claim that the video "is a misinformation targeted likely to divert the public from the murder of Chemnitz". In Chemnitz, a 35-year-old German was stabbed to death on August 26th. The suspects are asylum seekers. At that time, virtually no one in the opposition, but also in the government and parliament, did not understand the relativizing evaluations of Mabad.

On Sunday night, it was then announced in Berlin that it was still unclear whether Maaßen would be fired or whether Seehofer would be retired temporarily. It is also possible that Maaßen will occupy and even request her transfer for a temporary retreat.

Seehofer did not want to comment on the events at the party in Munich. However, in the ranks of the Bundestag, one can hear a simple badessment of the situation in the Mabadens case: politically, the man should no longer hold. If the comments from Warsaw were correct, they went well beyond what a president with constitutional protection could afford. Man does "pure politics".
