According to the actor's cousin, George would have revealed to the family that he and his wife were on the list of possible sponsors: "He would make a wonderful godfather – that's a good guy."
Officially, however, no sponsorship has been confirmed.
Amal Clooney and Duchess Meghan are friends
It would not be weird. Because Amal and the Duchess have long been a close friendship. That's why she came to the royal wedding in London with her husband in May.
