Airbus is positioning itself in the battle with its competitor Boeing for the segment "Market Middle": In addition to the A321 Neo versions, the largest aerospace manufacturer in Europe, according to marketing director Crawford Hamilton, is currently considering a deal. use a modified version of the A330 Neo Short and medium distances.
Technically, the takeoff weight of the A330 Neo, which was delivered for the first time Monday, is expected to be reduced from the current 242 tonnes to about 200 tonnes, said Bloomberg Hamilton. This would be possible if the thrust of Rolls-Royce engines increased from 72,000 to 68,000 pounds, so less fuel would be needed.
