Netflix presented its figures for the second fiscal quarter. As a result, the video streaming service on its home market in the United States could gain 670,000 new users, out of a total of 4.47 million worldwide. This was announced by the company Monday after the closure of the US market. Globally, Netflix had 130 million members at the end of June

Analysts expected growth well above the second quarter, with 1.2 million subscribers in the United States and 4.97 million in the world. Netflix itself had forecast significantly higher growth. "We had a strong quarter, but not exceptional," the company said in Los Gatos, California.

Sales fell $ 3.91 billion, despite a 40% increase from one year to the next. Although profits went from $ 65.6 million to $ 384.3 million ($ 328 million), the disappointment on Wall Street was strong. Initially, the stock dropped more than 14 percent after the stock market. However, the price had more than doubled since the beginning of the year.

In previous quarters, Netflix's chart had eclipsed competitors such as Amazon, Apple, and Hulu. Above all, internal productions attracted customers. Netflix became known for productions such as "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black". Meanwhile, the company has developed dozens of series and continues to add new content.

For the current year alone, Netflix plans to invest $ 8 billion in television series and movies. Even latecomers, like Amazon and Apple, have long been producing their own formats.
