Iran lodges a complaint against the United States for reimposing and tightening sanctions. This was announced by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. Tehran believes that the US government's decision in May to withdraw from the nuclear deal and restore punitive measures against Iran is illegal. The country refers to a bilateral agreement of friendship and trade with the United States of 1955.
Iran also sought an injunction against the United States. Pending a final settlement, the United Nations Supreme Court should order the United States to suspend all sanctions against Iran.
