Berlin The automaker Opel has to answer the questions of the diesel scandal about the operation of exhaust gas purification in three models. A spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Transport confirmed Friday that there was "an official hearing against Opel because of three Euro 6 models". Previously, the "Bild am Sonntag" reported on him.

"Before the outcome of this hearing can be said to the Ineligibility of the Abschalteinrichtung nothing conclusive," said the spokesman of the Federal Ministry of Transport. He gave no details and the number of vehicles involved. According to the report, Opel now has two weeks to file a statement with the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).

A spokesman for the company said Opel had not received any information from the KBA. "We can not comment on the open procedures that began more than two years ago." However, the spokesman pointed out that Opel had already identified a potential for improvement in December 2015 "and a technological initiative for more transparency, credibility and efficiency.

A part of these voluntary measures is an action for the models Opel Insignia (previous generation), Zafira Tourer and Cascada with Euro 6 and SCR technology for the model years 2013 to 2016.

Unlike other automakers, Opel had until now neither a judicial inquiry nor a mandatory reminder to be made. The Frankfurt prosecutor 's office had stopped preliminary investigations more than a year ago.

VW admitted in September 2015 to have handled exhaust gas tests in millions of diesel cars. The group then plunged into a serious crisis. Meanwhile, many German automakers are involved in the exhaust gas scandal, there are investigations and countless lawsuits.

Thus, Volkswagen investors accuse the group of having informed too late of the impending scandal in the United States. In addition, car owners need compensation from several manufacturers or reimbursement because they feel bad. The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt ordered mbad recalls.
