Paris: An alleged terrorist attack against 25,000 Iranians exiled upset

Every year, tens of thousands of exiled Iranians gather in Villepinte, near Paris, for a mbad rally against the leaders of Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister indignant

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohamed Javad Sarif expressed doubts about reports of a planned attack. "As it is practical: as we go on a presidential visit (Switzerland, Austria) to Europe, an alleged Iranian operation is discovered and two (Iranians) arrested," the head of diplomacy wrote on Twitter. He described the incident and its connection with Iran as doubtful. Nevertheless, Tehran is willing to cooperate with the relevant authorities in the investigation of the case.

An investigating judge issued a warrant arresting the couple for attempted terrorist and other crimes, prosecutors said. The Antwerp police also searched five buildings in different communities on Saturday. The results of these raids could not yet be named, it was said.

Initially, it was not clear either where the Iranian diplomat in Germany was questioned. He apparently works at the embbady in Vienna. In collaboration with the Belgian secret services and the French and German authorities have succeeded in thwarting the terrorist attack, he added. For Belgium, there is no danger.

Judicial authorities in Paris have stated that investigators in France initially took charge of three people in police custody. Two of them were released Monday night because there was nothing against them. The Paris prosecutor makes preliminary inquiries on suspicions of constitution of a terrorist organization.
