"Question of responsibility": Poland clings to demands for reparation

Polish President Andrzej Duda wants to keep open the question of German reparations for the Second World War. "In my opinion, the payment of reparations is not a settled subject," Duda told the "Bild am Sonntag" a few days before the German-Polish intergovernmental consultations in Warsaw.

He evoked the opinion of former President Lech Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash in 2010. These show "that the war damage caused in Poland has never been compensated ". "The intermediate results of the Parliament's expert team confirm that our losses have not been compensated, so it is a question of truth and responsibility", said Mr. Duda.
