KARLSRUHE (dpa-AFX) – The contribution to broadcasting introduced in 2013 is largely consistent with the Basic Law. People with two apartments who have to pay double the contribution up to now, but are too disadvantaged. This was decided by the Federal Constitutional Court with the verdict announced Wednesday. Crucial is the offer of a public service broadcasting, said the vice president of Ferdinand Kirchhof in Karlsruhe. "The national broadcast of programs gives everyone in Germany the realistic opportunity to receive them." This justifies an additional financial burden. Individuals currently pay € 17.50 per month. Since 2013, these fees per apartment are charged – regardless of the number of people living there and there is even a TV or radio.
