Ryanair rejects the crew for "photos asked"

Dublin / Porto The low-cost Irish airline Ryanair has fired six crew members based in Portugal for allegedly presented photos. Then the staff can be seen, as they sleep on the floor.
In October, the photo was posted on social media and hit the headlines afterwards. It shows six men and women in uniform lying on the ground in an airport in the Spanish city of Malaga.
Ryanair accuses employees of damaging the image of the airline. The photo was taken to corroborate the false claim that the crew had to sleep ashore, said a spokesman for Ryanair. This led to an "irreparable loss of confidence". Previously, Ryanair had broadcast footage from a surveillance camera, which shows that the crew had just laid down briefly on the ground.
The Portuguese union SNPVAC has criticized the dismissals. The photo was a form of protest because 24 flight attendants and pilots were forced to spend most of the night in a room with only eight chairs. "Some of them then decided to express their indignation and went to bed because all the chairs were occupied," said SNPVAC President Luciana Paso. The redundancies would now be examined by the legal service.
