A 40-year-old Saarland resident is imprisoned for 13 years for the murder of his wife with an ax. The Saarbrücken District Court found that he had proved that he had murdered the 34-year-old man for marital problems. The man had felt a growing resentment, which had finally "fainted in a terrible way, brutal and carried out with a vehement decapitation of his wife".

The defense counsel argued for manslaughter in a minor case and requested a maximum prison term of five years. The judgment is not final yet.
