The first wheelchair of physicist Stephen Hawking was auctioned in London for 320,000 euros.

The original of his 1965 thesis was awarded to an unknown buyer for an offer of just under 670,000 euros, as announced by Christie's auction house on his website. Several medals and prizes at Hawkings were worth just under € 340,000. The proceeds of the auction of the estate will go to charitable causes – the Hawking Foundation and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, an organization dedicated to the study of motor neuron disease.
