A 25 year old man sank while swimming in the Rursee in the Eifel on Saturday. He has since disappeared. Police suspect an accident.
The man was part of a group of people from India and Pakistan who were making a boat trip across the lake, according to police. The missing person and two others wanted to swim from the boat to a nearby island. He went under.
A search operation by the German Society for Rescue and Fire Department failed until Saturday evening. The search also helped a police helicopter, as reported by the Düren County police. (dpa)
