Telekom's customers can now look forward to new broadband technology. Six million households benefit from August 1 of a broadband Internet access from Telekom, as the company says. The company promises that its customers will then have up to 250 Mbit / s of available download speed. In the download, the data rate, according to Telekom up to 40 Mbit per second. Bookable is the new high-speed network on the "Magenta home XL" tariff.

But the Telekom is not the fastest. The competitor Vodafone had already launched its gigabit offensive in July 2017. Last year, the company launched the fast internet in 13 states with download speeds of up to 500 Mbit per second.

"It's a step closer to the gigabit company," says Dirk Wössner, Telekom's CEO. According to Telekom data, new VDSL connections will be available in about 900 municipalities across Germany from 1 August.

Consumers can reserve supervision services with the "Magenta Home XL" tariff starting August 1st. For new customers, it costs 19.95 euros in the first six months. From the seventh month, the price rises to 54.95 € per month.

By the beginning of 2019, according to the Bonn Group, 15 million households should be connected to the supervision technology. "The customer is the architect of the network," says CEO Wössner. "He will also decide how he will continue with the 250 moves beyond the year 2019. Because if the request comes up, we will respond quickly."
