On Wednesday, a 62-year-old man was killed in a frontal collision between two vehicles on a country road between Hohenweiden and Röpzig. A 58-year-old man was seriously injured, police said.
According to previous findings, the man was traveling with his car at 10:30 in the direction of Halle, leaving an unexplained cause left in the opposite lane. The car collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
The driver died, the badly injured driver had to be evacuated with a rescue helicopter. Due to the accident, the county road between Hohenweiden and Röpzig had to be closed for several hours. The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing. (Mz)
