The dress of Queen Letizia is like a second skin

For her delicate silhouette, she has often been criticized in the past. But with this dress, the queen Letizia puts in scene its rather conscious silhouette of itself.

The black velvet dress, chosen by the wife of Spain's King Felipe for the reception of the gala dinner in honor of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan at the Palacio Real, draws all eyes. Because this model is like a second skin. This is ensured by both the smooth fabric and the cut.

So many things that Chichi does not need the velvet evening dress of the designer Felipe Varela. No deep neckline, no slit on the legs, but Queen Letizia carries her with her accessories. And they complete the glamorous look of the dress. Their ears adorn opulent earrings that glow in the light. On her wrist she wears bright bracelets and on her head a very special diadem.

It once belonged to Queen Maria Christina and is called "The Diadem of the Cartier Loop". The good piece, which is among others filled with pearls, was made in the 19th century for the Spanish queen of the time. She gave the diadem to her son Alfonso XIII, who bequeathed it to his daughter-in-law, Princess Maria Mercedes. This died in 2000 and so Juan Carlos got the jewel that he gave to his wife, the former Queen Sofia. She pbaded the tiara to the reigning Queen Letizia, who proudly presented the jewel.
