The duration of summer is to blame – beer crates are rare in Germany! – Economy

In this summer heat, there is almost nothing more refreshing than a cold beer, at temperatures where beer consumption peaks!

But the Germans drink so much that breweries lack crates and bottles of beer! That's why the industry is now calling for a return to empty boxes and bottles before going on vacation.

Although brewers expect more beer to be drunk in the summer, the exceptionally early and sustainable summer weather gives them a stroke made by the bill. Niklas Other, editor-in-chief of Inside magazine, said the unusually long heat season had upset the brewery's calculations.

"It's a drama on the scale of the sector," said Other. Some brewers could not fill some varieties anymore. The most affected are the beverage distributors, who complain about the lack of investment breweries in the purchase of beverage cases.

The German Brewers Association also reported a "particularly pronounced" vacuum shortage this year. Spokesman Marc-Oliver Huhnholz said bottlenecks could occur again and again during the summer months.

The Brewery Fiege Bochum asks his customers to help him directly on Facebook: "Although we regularly buy new rare bottles," he said there. Therefore, consumers should remember to take their bottles. "First engagement, then (P) vacation," she writes.

Veltins spokesman, Ulrich Biene, referred to the brewery's record sales in May and June. "We have rearranged several thousand boxes," says Biene

There may be delays in merchant supply.

►Special Issue: Many breweries have bottled designs that make it difficult to replace breweries.

Nationwide, according to a projection of the brewery, a total of about 500 million cases of beverages are used, including about 180 million breweries. Even individual mineral wells have already complained of bottleneck bottlenecks.
