H amburg (dpa / lno) – Drivers from East Hamburg must prepare for the summer holidays: The Hamburg section of the A24 between the Horner Kreisel and the Hamburg-East cross is from Sunday evening to 22 hours August 4 completely closed. The reason is a planned road rehabilitation. As a diversion, the transport authority recommends the B5 running further south. Thanks to the complete closure, section A24 can be rehabilitated in four weeks. Under the normal procedure, construction work continued for nearly half a year, they said.

Traffic on the A7 south of Elbtunnel is also expected to slow down from Monday due to new construction. The traffic authority has the three lanes in the direction of Hanover between Waltershof and Hausbruch re-asphalt. The traffic must partly be directed by the lane in the opposite direction, so that despite construction work, three lanes in the north and south directions are available.
