It will be tight during congressional elections. In the USA Some polling stations are always open. In some states, there are first results. However, this suggests a long night of counting. In many constituencies, there are only a few percentage points between the candidates of the two main parties. Bigger surprise wins have not yet been confirmed by the US media. On the Republican side, however, several seats in the House of Representatives have been proclaimed safe, the latter in polls only as a trend to Republican. The Fivethirtyeight election research site has reduced the likelihood of Democrats in the House of Representatives to approximately 60%.

In contrast, in other parts of the country, Democrats look better. In the House of Representatives, several media outlets have announced the Republicans 'takeover of two of the Democrats' top seats and, according to CNN, 21 of them in Republican constituencies up to now. Four Republican candidates are at the head of the previous Democratic districts. On the whole, opposition Democrats must get 23 seats to bring together the majority of the 435 members of the House of Representatives. However, in many US states, the count of votes has not started yet.

In the Senate, the Democrats would need two more wins if they managed to defend their 26 positions at the same time. In Indiana, however, said Republicans occupy a Senate seat of Democrats. A majority in the Senate for the Democrats did not stand out after the first results.

By-election results have resulted in more youth voter statistics. Democrats are 37 percent ahead of Republicans aged 18 to 29, an increase from Hillary Clinton's 22 percent advantage in 2016.

Among the winners of the United States, Senator Bernie Sanders, who is not part of the party, generally votes with Democrats, potential presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, and the former vice-presidential candidate. Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine. In Indiana, Republican Greg Pence takes over the House of Representatives from his brother, Vice President Mike Pence.
