All day, protesters had been thinking in front of the Munich Higher Regional Court of Victims of NSU attacks – and protested. According to them, too many questions remained open even after 400 days of negotiations.
In the evening, thousands of demonstrators and relatives of murder victims marched through the center of Munich until the Ministry of the Interior at Odeonsplatz. The organizers spoke of up to 5,000 participants, police over 3,000. Several protesters carried plaques of the murdered. According to the forces, the demonstration remained peaceful.

Indignation for judgment against André E.
The court had sentenced jail time in the morning against the five accused. The accused Principal Beate Zschäpe was sentenced to life imprisonment; the court also noted the particular gravity of the guilt.
The decision to release André E. after the verdict provoked outrage from many members of NSU's victims. Given the two-and-a-half-year prison term, continued detention on remand would not be appropriate in the court's judgment.
