Too many scandals: US Environmental Protection Agency resigned

The resignation of The Head of the US Environmental Protection Agency, Pruitt, was expected. Because the list of his transgressions is long. But Pruitt volunteers, says President Trump.

Scott Pruitt was one of the most controversial members of the Trump administration. In his former position as attorney general of the state of Oklahoma, he had filed several lawsuits against the United States Environmental Protection Agency

More tenable after all the scandals

But after many scandals and ethically questionable actions, Scott Pruitt was no longer tenable for Trump. For example, he had flown several times at the expense of first-rate taxpayers, had a Washington apartment subsidized by the family of a lobbyist, employed staff for private purposes and renovated his office for $ 43,000 (approximately 37 000 euros). He said to the resignation of his head of the environment agency on Twitter: He had accepted his resignation and thanked for the "remarkable job" Pruitts. The agency's leadership will temporarily take control of EPA deputy director Andrew Wheeler.

Pruitt took office a year and a half ago, claiming he would drain the Trump Marsh in Washington. But almost no one in Washington has gone further into the swamp than Scott Pruitt.
