The madness of Athens fans – determined UEFA!
Unsurprisingly, the Disciplinary Committee of the European Football Federation is handling the riots of the AEK Athens match against Ajax Amsterdam.
Before the Netherlands '2-0 win, the AEK's "supporters" had thrown objects and a fireworks display on the guests' block of Ajax supporters. Bottom: just before the block, a Molotov badtail exploded. The images shocked European football on Tuesday.
The verdict is expected on December 13th. A penalty threatens both clubs because after the match, the fan groups fought and fought with the police. The sad conclusion: at least seven injured Ajax supporters, as well as three injured policemen.
For both clubs, this is not the first penalty of the current season. In Ajax, supporters had rioted in Lisbon (1: 1) and the club had to pay 38,000 euros.
The Greeks had to pay for the use of the pyro and throwing articles during the home game against Bayern (0: 2), or even 64,000 euros.
Both clubs could also be punished by partial exclusion of supporters.
