Gerry Adams launched his latest offering for the Irish unit, this time in the form of a chocolate egg.
In one video shared on twitter, the former president of Sinn Féin unveiled a “very, very, very special package that we put together at considerable expense” – a chocolate egg wrapped in a sheet of paper that says # Time4Unity.
Adams said: “While we honor our dead patriot, and it is very, very important that we do and remember the sacrifices of all these generations, and especially the men and women of our time, as well as the men and women of 1916.… Easter is also Easter eggs.
“What better way to unite the Irish people than an Easter egg to unite Ireland. Let me tell you, even trade unionists love Easter eggs.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, supply is limited and they are only available in Belfast.

Adams and his longtime ally and press secretary Richard McAuley have already released Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day cards as part of their Uniting Ireland project.
He said it was “a cross-community Easter egg, all of Ireland, all of the island” and included a proclamation and an Easter lily. Due to coronavirus restrictions, supply is limited and eggs are only available in Belfast, Adams said.
Some Twitter users accused Adams of disrespecting for breaking the news on the 28th anniversary of the deaths of 12-year-old Tim Parry and 3-year-old Jonathan Ball from an IRA bombing in Warrington. More than 50 people were injured in the attack, for which no one has ever been prosecuted.
