Get ready for a game of thrones Targaryen Prequel Series

Now, who is an idiot to read FIRE & BLOOD? Take this, mom!

The race to become "The Next The iron Throne"is overcrowded, and the biggest pretenders seem to be … The iron Throne himself. We already know that HBO has ordered scripts for five potential prequel series, and we already know that one of these prequels has the job title of Moon of blood and will represent the original long night, thousands of years before the events of Eu. Now we have learned the existence of another fallout: HBO is ordering a pilot for a series of television series from Targaryen House.

For those who have lived a decent enough life not to be aware of ASOIAF / GoT, the Targaryen are one of the central families of the series. They are known for two things: 1) riding dragons and 2) conquering Westeros. Targaryen House conducted the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for about 300 years before the show began. The stories and characters bigger than ever can not be transformed into a series. There is so much content in Targaryen that George R.R. Martin has published a 700-page story in Targaryen. first half from a book projected in two volumes. (Speaking of, what is the top / bottom on us getting Fire & Blood Volume II above the other two A song of ice and fire books?)

We do not know exactly what this Targaryen story will be like, but the Deadline scoop hints at the dragon dance, also known as the Targaryen Civil War that drove the dragons to extinction. I have some reservations about this story. Focusing on Westeros during another period of civil war makes it a bit too derivative of The iron Throne for my taste, and if the hook of this new show are the dragons, I do not see why we should jump into a story where all the dragons die very quickly and brutally. Again, it seems that this new series will "lead" to The Dance, so maybe we should think of the war as the material of the last season. In this case, a family drama during the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen could be pretty cool. Personally, I would prefer a The crownOld style biographical drama about King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, "The Old King".

Game of Thrones: The Last Dragons * has so far only received the order to fly, and we do not know when this pilot was filmed. (Sidenote: Moon of bloodThe pilot project is completed this summer, and we still do not know if the series was commissioned.) George R.R. Martin is attached as executive producer and Ryan Condol wrote the script. If you feel burned by Benioff and Weiss, The iron Throne conclusion, you do not immediately need to write this new exhibition. Unless you do not like fighting in principle, in this case, you may want to write this one.

* not the current title, but who knows, sucka!
