HENRICO COUNTY, Virginia – Police have arrested a Chesterfield man who they say is the hit-and-run driver who killed a Henrico veteran who was walking in Glen Allen on Saturday morning.
Henrico Police officials said Justin Regensburg, 30, was taken into custody in King William County around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Regensburg was charged with hit and run with an occupied vehicle and hit and run against a pedestrian.
He is being held without bond at the Henrico County Jail, officials said.

“It is a tragic situation for everyone involved,” said Lieutenant Matthew Pecka of the Henrico Police Force. “Detectives will continue to work on this case alongside the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the Henrico Commonwealth Prosecutor’s Office.”
Henrico Police were called just after 11 a.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Road in Winfrey Road with reports of a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.
“The preliminary investigation by the Henrico Police Team revealed that the suspect vehicle was moving northwest on Greenwood Road when it struck the pedestrian,” Pecka said.

Officers said Donald L. Lambert Jr., a 33-year veteran of the Henrico Police Force who was the division’s special operations group captain, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said he was off duty at the time of the crash.
Henrico County Police Chief Eric English said the agency was deeply saddened by the “tragic and untimely loss”.
“[Lambert] was a selfless leader, mentor and friend who served our community with pride and dedication for almost 34 years, “said English.” My thoughts and prayers are with my family, colleagues and friends.
Ground and aerial searches took place on Saturday with the assistance of State Police, Richmond Police and deputies from the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Louisa County Sheriff.
