Two people were shot dead at the Ashanti regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The incident occurred during an altercation between at least one of the victims and the shooter.
According to an eyewitness, the badailant, badociated with an NDC militia, the Hawks, shot at a NDC man three times. First in the leg while he was running and twice in the chest at close range, he was vulnerable.
The man whose identity has not yet been confirmed was transported to Komfo Anokye University Hospital but died. A statement from the party confirmed the shooting and death.
Erastus Asare Donkor, of Luv FM, also reported that another person had also been affected and was in critical condition.
The party's general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, narrowly escaped death. We do not know what triggered the uproar that led to the shooting.

The statement signed by NDC regional secretary Ashanti, Kwame Zu, said gunmen wielding firearm motorcycles attacked an outside rally, taking a quick, blind stroll.
It was then that a meeting between the National President, the Secretary General, an Assistant Secretary General and the Regional Executive Committee was in progress.
The regional secretary refused to confirm whether the gunman was affiliated with the party's vigilante group announced in September 2018.

He described the unfortunate incident and condolences offered to the bereaved family. Kwame Zu said the party was organizing a crisis meeting following the shooting.
The incident is expected to heighten public concern about the public insecurity caused by the activities of the vigilance groups.
Joseph Yamin, a former deputy regional minister of Ashanti under the NDC administration, said the members of the hawks were not as disruptive as members of the NPP 's self – defense groups.
"… we will use them for the sake of the holiday and the country," he said.
