Upon arrival, MPs located a lonely and callous man in a 2008 Chevrolet Envoy SUV in the field north of County Highway BB.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the SUV was heading north on 390th Street and failed to stop for the US Route 12 stop sign. The vehicle crossed US Route 12 on County Highway BB and soon after left the road, hitting a large tree, MPs said. .
The vehicle sustained severe front damage when it struck the tree and subsequently came to rest in a field of cut corn.
The Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and said the 24-year-old who was also the driver, Elk Mound, died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification from his family.
