10,000 Ghanaians perished in road crashes between 2014 and 2018

It has been revealed that more than 10,000 Ghanaians were killed in road crashes between 2014 and 2018.

According to the figures of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) on the number of victims during this period.

A total of 10,105 people died as a result of various accidents. For the distribution, 1,856 victims were recorded in 2014, 1,634 in 2015 and 2,198 in 2016.

In 2017, 2,076 people died as a result of road accidents, while 2,341 victims were recorded for the year 2018.

The figures from the National Road Safety Commission represent deaths recorded only as a result of reported accidents.

This comes after the deaths of many people Friday as a result of separate road accidents in two regions.

Both accidents claimed the lives of nearly 80 people and many others were injured to varying degrees.

The first accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, March 22, 2019 (around 2 am) in the new Bono East area, following a frontal collision between two buses.

A few hours later, on the same day, a second bloody accident was reported in Ekumfi Dunkwa, in the central region.
