Non-governmental organizations that make up the Human Rights Community; Labor Law Network; Center for Human Freedom; The Coalition of the African Peoples Network against injustice and freedom; The Justice and Peace Network, People's Solidarity for Democracy, among others, was among those who signed the approval form.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Adeleye Taiwo of the NHRC said that after examining the personality of the two leading candidates, it would be worse to have a man who did not have the slightest credibility at home and abroad to sit as the country's number one citizen.

"We believe that with the credibility of Buhari and Osinbajo, their mistakes of the recent past may be correct in the most honest way. But if you have a dishonest and untrustworthy person as president, you put the entire life of the people on a dangerous and perilous scale.

He added that the coalition had asked its members to align themselves with the adoption of President Buhari and Osinbajo as the best alternative candidate for Nigerians in the upcoming presidential election, given the realities of the moment.

"This does not mean that Nigerians have made the best choice, but only that, in the context of limited opportunities, Nigerians have made a better choice among the two most formidable alternatives that they offer to them.

"We want to support this decision with a door-to-door campaign in the coming days to achieve our goal of ensuring that the People's Democratic Party does not return to power at the national level.

The group said it had taken into account some factors, the personal credibility of the two leading candidates and the need to preserve the Nigerian political space by corrupt and morally deficient people.

"It will be worse to have a man who has not the slightest credibility at home and abroad to sit as the number one citizen of the country," he added.
