Fourteen people were elected on Friday to represent 14 regions on the Council of State.
The election of representatives from the West and Bono East regions is still pending.
While there is an injunction from the court on that of Bono Est, that of the West region goes for a second round on Monday, February 15, 2021 because there was a tie in the elections on Friday.
Elected officials will join the 11 people appointed by the president to form the board and advisor for his second four-year term.
100% of votes
Among those elected across the country on Friday were a former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah for the Greater Accra region; Biochemist and businessman, Mr. Paa Kofi Ansong, for the Eastern region; a 63-year-old farmer and businessman, Mr. Yaw Basoa, for the Ahafo region; a former director of the Bagabaga higher school in the commune of Sagnarigu, 65 years old, Alhaji Adam Zakaria for the Savannah region, and a traditional leader and businessman, Nana Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II, 63 for the northwest.
They have all been 100% approved by the delegates from their regions.
Other pillars
Another traditional ruler and businessman, Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong was also selected for the Ashanti region; a former director of finance of the Armed Forces of Ghana (GAF), Colonel Mahamoud Tahiru Zunglana, for the northern region; the supreme chief of the traditional zone of Talensi, Tong-Raan Kugbilsong Nalebegtang, for the Upper East region; a retired Alhaji Adam Zakaria teacher for the Savannah region.

Run-off and injunction
There was a tie in the western region as the outgoing member of the Council of State, Ms. Eunice Jacqueline Buah and Mr. Ntori Bonkyi Akomean each received 14 votes.
The Electoral Commission (EC), which organized and supervised the poll, therefore set for Monday, February 15, 2021 a second round between the two in this region.
Of the six people who came forward to challenge the western regional niche, one withdrew.
Meanwhile, that of Bono Est was postponed due to an injunction placed on the exercise.
According to reports, three assembly members of the municipal assemblies of Atebubu-Amanten and Kintampo Nord issued the injunction, claiming that even though they had been appointed by their assemblies, their names had been removed from the college list. electoral.
