Suites have long been part of Hollywood practices, but they seem to have become even more obsessed in recent years. Each year, some of the biggest movies are sequels, spin-offs, reboots or remakes, and nothing indicates that it will slow down. Just last year Avengers: war in the infinite – the third Avengers movie, but nineteenth entry in the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe – establish almost all the box office records in the books.
Even though these sequels have the potential to be great hits, there is also a long history of those films that do not live up to the hype. In some cases, a bad outcome can end the franchise, while some still manage to win billions of dollars at the box office. Fortunately, there are also several suites that not only have followed the hype of the original, but are actually better. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is a great example of a continuation beyond what was before, and there have been many movies to do what Empire did after.

In the last Rant screen video, we take a look at fifteen movie suites that were better than the original. The list includes clbadic examples like Terminator 2: the day of judgment and The godfather: part II, as well as some more recent indices of excellence with Logan, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and much more. Thanks to the comic book boom over the past decade, this genre alone is responsible for many of these sequels. The MCU can quite easily claim that Thor: Ragnarok, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Avengers: war in the infinite are better than their direct predecessors, while Christopher Nolan's middle entries Black Knight trilogy of Sam Raimi Spider Man trilogy, and the original Fox X Men trilogy are considered superior.
Even if the movie is on this list, many of them could potentially be out of date before too long. Marvel Studios is going out Avengers: End of the game in a few months, and we already hope that it will at least live up to the quality of Avengers: War of Infinity. the Fast and furious franchise is gearing up for the ninth movie to start filming, and there's even the Hobbs & Shaw spillovers coming this year that could be the best of all. In addition, with two others Impossible mission films from Christopher McQuarrie, he too could beat what he just did with Fall.
Of course, even if the movies on our list that have upcoming sequels remain the best in the franchise, fans will not be too disappointed as these suites are always a quality entertainment. Each suite does not have to be better than what has been done before. But, in the case of these aforementioned films, they were able to do exactly that.
