The girls were kidnapped in Takoradi
East Region police arrested 15 people in connection with the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi.
The suspects were reportedly arrested in Nuaso, Odumase, following a raid by a team of police officers.
Three girls – Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruth Love Quayson and Priscilla Koranchie – have been abducted in Takoradi in the past five months.
The main suspect was later identified as a Nigerian national named Samuel Wilson Udoterg.
But the police said that all attempts to make her reveal the abducted girls' place proved futile.
However, speaking to Accra-based Joy FM, Odumasi police commander, ASP Harry Selormey, said 15 more suspects had been apprehended.
According to him, a team of officers from Takoradi, where the girls had disappeared, launched the operation by providing relevant information on where the suspects could be found.
The 15 suspects have since been sent to the police headquarters in Accra while investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Western Regional Police Commander Vincent Dedzoe revealed that the main suspect in the kidnapping had known all his victims.
According to him, Samuel Wilson Udoterg had promised two jobs for the girl and another for a cell phone.
DCOP Dedzoe added that the suspect had a criminal record, having already been sentenced for kidnapping in Nigeria.
