169 institutions adopt a new anti-corruption reporting system

One hundred and sixty-nine governmental and non-governmental organizations used the National Anti-Corruption Reporting Toolkit (NACoRD) to report on various efforts to curb corruption in the country.
NACoRD, which is an online reporting tool for the proper coordination of all anti-corruption efforts of various agencies described in the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP), was launched in December 2018.

Its main objective is to reduce manual processes involved in reports on agency activities under NACAP.

The information provided by the institutions is contained in the annual monitoring report from 1 January to 31 December 2018, which has not yet been published.

Reverend Richard Quayson, Deputy Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), expressed high hopes for NACoRD's potential to ensure timely reporting on all efforts made as part of the anti-corruption campaign.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Reverend Quayson said, "NACoRD facilitates reporting and badysis as partners fight corruption and report on these efforts."

In his opinion, the tool would help finalize the first reports for the year 2019.

"The notices to start the reporting cycle for 2019 were sent out in March, and the end of the year will coincide with the ready-made activity reports," he added.

Reverend Quayson explained that the reporting dashboard was designed to allow continuous work.

"Agencies can log in, work, and log out even if the reports are not complete, you have your work backed up and can come back whenever you want."

"The online dashboard interfaces redirect customers to NACAP where they can easily refer to provisions," he added.

He stated that this process improved reporting, reduced the time spent on the report and made it easy to refer to strategic activities and progress.

Among other interesting facts discussed in the report, there is a marked increase in the number of executing agencies reporting on their activities to curb corruption.

The number of metropolitan, municipal and district bademblies (MMDAs) reporting on initiatives under the anti-corruption campaign has also improved considerably.

The number of civil society organizations participating in the national anti-corruption campaign has also increased.

NACoRD was launched by CHRAJ at the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Week (ACT) celebration last year.
