However, 10 candidates failed to sit for exams, at least on the first day, at the four centers – Oweriman, Collins and Agogo State High High Centers.

Ernest Kwadwo Afari, district director for education, is concerned about the trend of early pregnancy in the region despite better access to education.

"This year, the number has skyrocketed, and we did not have those high numbers last year, especially teenage mothers, because you know that the early stages of pregnancy are hard to detect." "What we see here means we are losing the fight against teenage pregnancy," he said.

He attributed the lack of parental control to early pregnancies in the area.
