Public health officials have confirmed a case of measles in northeastern Indiana.

The Indiana State Department of Health has announced its collaboration with local health departments to identify anyone who may have been exposed to the patient at Cameron Memorial Emergency Hospital in Angola on March 30th.

The patient also reportedly visited three locations in Sturgis, Michigan on March 31: the Holy Angels Catholic Church, the San Miguel Grocery Store and the Walmart Supercenter.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that 387 individual cases of measles were confirmed in 15 states this year until the end of March. Michigan health officials said Friday that 39 cases had been confirmed this year, including 38 in Oakland County near Detroit.

Indiana had a measles case confirmed in 2018.
