Mavis Hawa Koomson, Minister of Special Development Initiatives, asked Ghanaians not to expect what she describes as "significant" roadblocks from the Akufo-Addo-led government.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentarian and educator from the Awutu Senya East constituency in the central region expressed indignation at the amount of money allocated to buildings, saying they can not be used for the purpose of the project.
According to her, Ghanaians should not expect a significant dam worth GH ¢ 250 000, which indicates that such a quantity is terribly inadequate. According to the Minister of Special Initiatives, "If you build a significant dam, you need nothing less than $ 3 million."
She said, "We said a village, a dam, we did not say Bui or Akomsobo dam for the village and when we say a dam in the village, some of us know the type of dam we are talking about, it's not the biggest type.
She added, "It's up to the people to use it in times of drought and the animal will not go far enough for people to steal it or go away and die in it. way, because if they do not get water, they will die. a little water near the village. "
She made the remarks while speaking to journalists in Accra.
The village project, a dam (1V1D) had been promised by the NPP during the 2016 election process.
As a result, the government allocated GH ¢ 94.5 million in the 2018 budget to implement the project in the three northern regions.
However, there has been widespread condemnation and public anger against the execution of the dams built so far.
