Construction work on the $ 2.2 billion eastern rail line is expected to begin soon.

According to DGN Online reports, investors from the Ghana-European Railway consortium indicated that they were ready to start work as soon as Parliament and the Cabinet approved the agreement.

This was announced at the launch of the negotiation of a concession agreement for the standard template of the East.

The government should take a minority share of the agreement approved and signed.

The project is expected to service 24 pbadenger trains and six freight cars once the 340 kilometers of construction is completed.

According to DGN Online, the construction process is expected to last three years and the consortium "hopes that the project will be a fine example of the Ghanaian-Ghanaian society, with the Ghana-European consortium of railways undertaking the project, promising to start works, sincerely.
