Blackstars Afcon Farewell The Black Stars bid farewell to President Akufo-Addo on Friday

Dr. Desmond Kofi Koduah Sarpong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Black Stars, is confident that the country will win the next Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ghana is looking for a fifth Nations Cup trophy, but has not been successful in recent years, including two heartbreaking defeats in the last decade.

The West African giants are looking to end their 37-year wait for continental success after winning their last title in 1982.

But Mr. Sarpong has expressed his belief that the team can end the drought of the continental trophy in Egypt when it paid a courtesy call to President Nana Addo at Flagstaff House prior to the Nation's Cup of Nations. Egypt 2019

"I think it's a very special honor for me because I think this cup has to come home this year, I think we've got enough resources and it's up to us management, technical committee and players to fight and honor to this country. "

"Many reflections have been made in our preparations concerning the psychologist, philosophy and all the rest."

He expressed gratitude to Nana Addo for her unfailing support to the team.

"We want to thank the President for giving us all the support we need for this exercise," said Dr. Sarpong.

President Nana Addo organized Thursday a farewell dinner with the Black Stars. The team is expected to camp in Dubai from June 1st.

Ghana was paired in Group F alongside Benin, Guinea Bissau and defending champion Cameroon.
